WILBERT LONGMIRE - The Way We Were

ウィルバートロングマイアーといえばボブ・ジェイムスのレーベル「Tappan Zee Records」から3作品、'78「Sunny Side Up」'79「Champagne」'80「With All My Love」等フュージョン名作を残してるギタリスト。

本作は、彼の珍しい自主制作1975年盤。

カーペンターズで有名な「I Won't Last Day Without You」がメロウな好カヴァー。もろウェスやジョージベンソンの影響を感じる安心して聴けるギタースタイルだ。エレピが気持ちいいバックの演奏も良い。メロウなソウルジャズ〜ジャズファンク系の楽曲が続く。そして最後は「You Make Me Feel Brand New」で締めくくる。

ソウルジャズからメロウなフュージョン辺りが好きな方にオススメしたい。
