STAFFAN HARDE - SJR LPS-2

スウェーデン出身のギタリスト、STAFFAN HARDEによる1972年作。

一曲目からクールな単音ソロギターにはじまり、２曲目にベースが入り、３曲目がカルテットに。。

かなりエグいギターフレーズ。そして知的且つ冷たい空気感がアルバム全体に漂う。無調的であり、フリージャズ寄りの、ぎりモードといった印象。

A4のソロギターによるインプロヴィゼーションでは、不協和音によるイタリアの民謡「サンタルチア」のメロディーらしきフレーズが出てくる。カルテット編成の演奏では、ジョージラッセル風のひねくれたモード的演奏も聴ける。そしてパーカッションが民族音楽的味わいを醸し出している。

メンツは「CAPRICE」からリーダー作を出しているスウェーデンのピアニスト Lars Sjosten、ジョージラッセルのビッグバンドにもに参加しているベーシスト Lars-Urban Helje、そしてECMからもリーダー作を残しているパーカッション奏者 Bengt Bergerによるカルテット編成。だが、実際にはA1がソロ、A2がベースとデュオ、A3がカルテット、A4がソロ、B1がピアノとベースのトリオ、B2がベースなしのトリオという編成になっている。
